On a good note

A few weeks ago I was really down in the dumps. I thought about quitting my author title and letting go of the stress of not "succeeding". But having my readers/friends behind me really helped me rise above my struggles and my negativity. I am so grateful to each and every person who gave me a word of wisdom and who has stuck by me since day one. I couldn't and wouldn't be doing this without their support.
I still have my days of struggle, but that one week was a hard one. I've gone from stressing over money/books to now feeling much more settled and have been working on a better spending budget. I now have to make sure I am not overspending, yet I am able to still purchase what I want or need. I am in no means poor, but I still need to watch what I buy. That was my problem. Anywhooo enough of $$$ talk.

On another good note, Chasing Paige is now being edited. I completed writing this novel the other night. When I wrote "The End" the tears made their way out of my eyes, I haven't ever cried over finishing a book. This was a first for me. I believe it had to do with the fact that I did this for my mom, my aunt, my grandfather and for those that believe in me as a writer. Taking my style in another direction scares me so much that I am afraid of failing them/you. However scared I am, it all comes down to trying something new for myself. I enjoyed every word and page I wrote in Chasing Paige. There is a love story in there yet it still has some interesting twists to the plot that I believe you will enjoy - twists I didn't see coming in the beginning of writing CP. That's the beauty of story-telling - you have no idea where your characters or where the story is going to take you. My mind and imagination are always plotting and thinking of different scenario's for my books. It's a lot of fun.
So now that CP is done, I am kind of at a loss of what to do. I know I have things around my house that should be finished, but I am so very lazy. Plus it's been hot, who wants to finish painting their room when it's 100 degrees outside? Not me lol.

Well, time to start thinking of my prologue for Releasing Rhythm - downtown book 5 (Jason's story).. He's slowly getting ready to tell his story.. He's a bit closed up at the moment, not sure he wants to open up to the public. He's my dark horse, yet he needs to let it go. He needs to find love. He needs to be truly happy. I am excited!

My "Big"

So I just passed the 60K mark on Chasing Paige. This new book is supposed to be out November 8th 2016. It's very nerve wracking when you think you won't be able to make it to your own deadline, but in the end I always do. However, I am going to be going OVER my usual 63k-65k mark. I really don't know exactly how it's going to end, but I do know there will be an HEA.
This book is unlike all my other ones. The difference is my pen name - Tiffany Janine instead of TJWest. Even though the loyal readers I have will want to read it, I am still quite nervous for the new readers. Will they like it without the sex and my usual filthy language. I actually miss saying the word FUCK and other raunchy words, but this story will not have it. It's very contemporary with a twist toward the end. You will see at the beginning of each chapter of my leading lady's POV a story within my story. It's something different and I hope the readers like it. If you like horror stories, you'll get a glimpse of some nasty blood talk in those clips.

I have a confession: I almost made the decision, after my downtown series, that I will quit writing. Last week was bad fucking week for me, in the book world and financially. The reason for quitting was because I really didn't believe in myself as a writer/a story teller. I want so badly to make it "big" in the book community. I want to be talked about all over the place, like so many amazing authors are. Even one of my closest friend's who I admire as a person and writer is at the top of that mark and I couldn't be more happy for her. She deserves this more than anything, but I am wishing for the same thing. I pray with Chasing Paige that my "big" will come. BUT I cannot keep up that hope, because I will only be let down in the end. I have to really try to stay grounded and still write for those that want my stories.
No matter what happens, I know I still have readers who depend on my books to get them through the day. Even if I never become "big" I have accomplished something in my life. I never thought I'd become an author. Over 24yrs ago when I wrote my first cheesy book in high school, I never imagined we would be able to self publish. It's become a small dream for me.
I hope to inspire and to continue gathering those readers because those readers helped me get my "big"

Freaking LOVE making teasers

I'm going nuts with making Chasing Paige teasers. Every time I create a new quote, I make it into a teaser. I freaking love doing it and setting off my loyal readers is half the fun.
I am more than half done with CP. While I don't have a set release date, I do know it will be ready this coming November. It seems I get nervous with every book when it comes to dates of releases. I never know exactly when I'll be finished. I have to make sure that my formatter has an opening, so I always make sure it's way in advance so I can kick ass to finish the story. That's what's happening with CP. I want this out before the new year. 2 books per year, that is my goal.

Teaser Tuesday Excursion!!!!!!!

So, I've been slacking on the blog lately. Due to writing Chasing Paige, my son getting his wisdom teeth taken out, to traveling up to bring my daughter home from camping all week with family and basically being lazy - like usual LOL.
Today is Teaser Tuesday and I have a couple new ones to share, from Chasing Paige. I am in love with these new ones that I have made. I believe they're my best yet.
Just like anything, the more you work on something, the better you get at it. I spend a lot of time on my teasers to make them look professional and beautiful. I think I do an amazing job on them and I am not just saying that because it's my work, I just know that they are. I wish more authors would use me to make them beautiful teasers. Their $$$ would not be wasted.
On another note, Chasing Paige is coming along quite well. I am praying that I finish it before October, because I am going to get busy during that month. Lots of things happening: Vegas, book singing in LA, Cali and then going on an unexpected local cruise with my 94 yr old grandfather who needed a companion. Since I stay home, I am able to do this. And even though my son's 17th bday is the same time I go on this excursion, he is allowing me to miss his special day. My husband thinks this is a good thing, to spend this quality time with my grandfather because he's not going to be around forever. My grandfather has always claimed he will live till 100 and I believe him. He's still in great shape and has always loved traveling. So there you have it LOL. I am going on a cruise up and down Southern/Northern California - the least favorite thing for me to do, since I live in California and have seen everything already, but it does travel into Ensenada. Woo hoo! LOL. However, I will treasure this escapade with my grandfather.

I want to show off a brand new teaser I created for Chasing Paige. Not only do I write, I also love making teasers, promo banners, cover banner and fliers. It's my little side business to help with purchasing covers for my books. I've made a ton of teasers for friends/authors. It's been so fun. My business is called Tiff's Teaser Designs. At first it was hard taking money from my friends and to tell them how much they owe me, but the more I have been doing it, the easier it has gotten. If they want a good teaser or promo banner, unfortunately there is a price tag. I love helping those that hate making them - or those that simply don't have the time and talent. I've always been good at creating and using my imagination - what better way to use it through creating teasers that go with someone's book/s...?

Teaser for Chasing Paige

Even though Chasing Paige isn't even finished yet, I love showing off my teasers for it. I do that with all my books. I get excited and want to show everyone a taste of what they'll be reading. I never know if showing off a new book/teaser so soon after my latest - Lasting Lyric - came out, is a good idea or not, because that needs a lot of attention too. I should think of a day of the week to promote each series/book so they don't get left behind. Yeah, I think I'll start doing that.
I am still nervous about CP, because it's not my usual dirty talk, open door sex, story. It's very contemporary with closed door scenes, which to some that may be a plus for them. However, I cannot make this story all fluffy, unicorns, rainbows and gooey shit, ya know? I want to engage the readers without boring them to death. It's important to me to bring some drama and mystery into my characters and story. And every so often you'll see the word SHIT, because I got approved by my mom that if it's not overly done then, okay, I can use it. My guy, James cannot be too clean. Guys say shit, right? But the word Fuck will not be associated in this story even though I desperately want James to say - "I want to fuck you, and never let you go." Sadly, he's not going to say it. I have to roll with it and stay challenged.
On that note, I'll share my newest teaser from Chasing Paige...OH, you'll notice down in the right hand corner that the series is called Falling into Words. Well I changed it to: Falling for Words. No one probably won't even notice it, but it's there.

Chasing Paige - Cover Reveal

Today I have revealed a new book cover for my new and upcoming contemporary novel - Chasing Paige - under a new pen name: Tiffany Janine.
The reason for my new pen name is so that readers won't get my work confused. In my Rain and Downtown series I have explicit language and sex involved, where Chasing Paige will not have that. I specifically wrote this way so my mom would read it. She is not a fan of words such as: fuck, cock, pussy - you get the picture. So for her, I wanted something rather toned down. The sex scenes will be closed doors, yet you'll still get all the feels as you do in my other books.
It's been a very challenging road for me. I am so used to writing openly and sharing how my character's have sex. Yet, I know there are readers out there who can do without all the "sharing", so for them Chasing Paige will be the perfect love story to read.

Welcome!

Welcome to my first blog post. In the past, I've had several other blogs, but within time, I have lost interest or my writing had taken up a lot of my time. Having another blog means -  more writing and more dedication. 
I am dedicated to being a well known author some day, and will do my best to keep up this blog in order to get more readers and followers. In my opinion, my series - The Downtown Rocker Series - is one of the best out there. I am not saying I'm the best writer in the world, but I know in my heart that my books mean something, and should be up at the top. I know my worth and my talent. Each book that I write, I think about all my loyal readers. They're excited, waiting for the next one to pop up. I do it for them, yet I do it for me. I love creating and talking for my characters. They speak to me and allow me to use my brain - my tools, thinking cap. So in due time, I hope to have more followers and will post at least once a week - NO PROMISES. I do get lazy and rather watch Netflix. But for now, enjoy the ride! Enjoy the stories.

I started this book for those that can't handle the heat - meaning: descriptive sex, language and so on. It's very new to me and has been a very challenging thing. But I have loved it. My mom and aunt will actually read this one, which thrills me to pieces. For the first time, my mom will get to see how I love using my words, using my talent to get my characters' feelings out.
